Inner critic, inner freedom

 Our own natural well-being gets attacked and undermined by our relentless self-doubt and criticism. Literally our own worst enemy, we chastise and berate ourselves in an attempt to be ‘better’, engendering guilt, fear and lack of confidence. This powerful weeklong course will explore the inner critic, the structure the Buddha referred to as Mara. We will use a variety of  contemplative and psychological tools to understand the origins and the effects, as well as opening into freedom from, our own contractions of self-criticism. This was one of the most profound and transformative courses we offered in 2008, and we are excited to offer the opportunity again.
