Open doors, open hearts

Moulin de Chaves is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and open-hearted refuge for all people to explore life-transforming practices and teachings.  We are committed to cultivating an awareness and appreciation of the value of diversity and to acknowledging the need to recognise and dissolve barriers that separate us from each other. We open our doors and hearts to all social identities including all races, classes, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, abilities, cultures and ethnicities.

Présence, Amour et Sagesse : le large spectre de la mindfulness

Martin Aylward
22 – 27 May 2017

A 4 day residential retreat with Martin Aylward, activating and exploring the 3 principal centres of experience:

-Belly, the centre of embodiment, where we learn to actually inhabit our experience ever more fully

-Heart, the centre of empathy, where we free up our undigested emotional life, and open to ever deepening care, compassion, joy and spaciousness

-Head, center of intuition and wisdom, where we learn to disengage from habitual and  counterproductive thought patterns, and train deeper capacities of mind.

The retreat will integrate classical mindfulness practices with contemporary psychological understanding, to deepen and develop embodied awareness, emotional intelligence, and transformative wisdom. It is open to all but will be of particular support for those who are training in and teaching Mindfulness based practices in a variety of settings.

Parole en Conscience

Thay Doji
3 – 8 July 2017

For five days between assizes and silent marches, in the exceptional setting of the Moulin de Chaves, we will speak in full conscience. At the time of the mobile phone, let us not forget that the word is breath and that the breath is life. To listen to the other is to give him a present. To be poisoned by the word of the other is a pity. To express oneself by speaking is vital. To kill with his verb or to disperse in trivialities is regrettable. “Speech in Full Consciousness” is a number of precise exercises that will allow us to be more attentive to our verbal communication in its physical and mental aspect.

The art of living freely

Martin Aylward
17 – 23 July 2017

Despite our best intentions, we easily find ourselves caught up in familiar reactions and judgements. Dharma practice helps us to recognise, understand and step outside of these habit formations, and discover a life where wisdom and love increasingly guide our speech and action, and where we find what it really means to meet life more fully, to respond more fluidly, and to live freely.
