A Retreat venue in the heart of the Dordogne

Cost for this event with a minimum of 18/27 people, with a 50 mins daily work meditation period is:

The price per night per person for full board is as follows….

€65 – camping, own tent (for groups over 50, warm season only)
€75 – moulin tent, 2 share ( warm season only)
€95 – moulin tent, single ( warm season only)
€75 – shared room, 3 people
€85 – shared room, 2 people
€105 – kuti wooden cabin, single
€105 – single room
€120 – single room with en suite
€110 – shared room with en suite (1 only)

Deposit
In order to confirm your group with the stated minimum number of participants attending, we require a non – refundable deposit of €3000 for an event up to 7 days.

This would be returned once your event is in progress, minus any accommodation costs you or your organisation have incurred and or paying any difference in numbers if it is below the minimum amount.

If the final number of people registered is lower than 18/27, we ask that you to pay the shortfall, based on a 2 person shared room rate.
For example, if you have 16 participants instead of 18, you would pay the difference of 2 participants multiplied by the 2 person shared room rate.

If you or your organisation cancelled the event, this deposit would be kept to cover moulin costs.

Administration Fee
A non-refundable administration fee of 300€ is payable in addition to the deposit amount above. This charge is payable whether or not the event goes ahead.

We ask for a minimum of 18 people during the low season and a minimum of 27 people during the months of July and August.

Maximum numbers may vary depending on number of places used by team and teachers, time of year etc. However as a guide maximum numbers are as follows:

Low season / No tents – Max numbers including teachers = approx 41 people
(April, early May , Sept and October)
High season / With tents – Max numbers including teachers = approx 63 people including 10 camping in own tent spaces, for groups over 50 participants.
(Mid May to 3rd week August)
Please note that only 3 camping places are available to groups with less than 50 participants.
Extra spaces can be made available in a neighboring cottage by arrangement depending on availability.
Please check with Anna at the Moulin Office about minimum and maximum numbers for your event.

Exclusivity is by arrangement for groups of 40 or more participants only.
If your group is 40 or more people, you will have exclusivity to le moulin and have access to all the communal spaces, except those which are labelled private or clearly for staff use only.

Please assume your group is sharing unless you have been granted exclusivity.


As we are a not-for-profit retreat centre predominantly serving meditation and yoga retreats and to keep in line with the monastic traditions and Buddhist Vipassana insight Meditation / Theravada values we ask that all participants offer 50 minutes per day of Work periods.

Meditation work periods are a practice that supports the running of le moulin, with participants helping in areas such as kitchen, chopping veggies, gardening, weeding, sweeping paths, and household such as cleaning communal areas, bathrooms. This all contributes to lower daily rates for participants and can be used to integrate meditation and mindfulness practice into everyday activity.

The main meditation work period will be at 9h and again after the lunch and supper period, to help with the wash up.

If for some reason, your group’s programme is unable to accommodate this then let us know. We would charge a higher daily rate to compensate for this.

We do not operate in the same way as a hotel or conference centre. As a retreat centre our staff and volunteers are themselves practitioners, who wish be in this environment and have committed their time and energy to support and care for the centre , its programme and the many visitors and groups that pass through each season. We thank you for letting your group know this, and for respecting this difference. We look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful sanctuary here.

There is a lovely river that runs next to the house that people may swim in if they wish. However they do so at their own risk and will sign a disclaimer when they arrive.

In certain circumstances, (for instance when Le Moulin is full), some participants may wish to stay in accommodation outside Le Moulin. This needs to be agreed by the office first before confirming it to the participant.

If this is the case participants will be asked to partake of at least 2 meals on site, and pay accordingly.

If in the rare case a participant does not wish to have any meals at le moulin, they will still need to pay a daily charge for using le moulin facilities.

If rooms and tents are still available at le moulin, and if the minimum number of participants is met, a maximum of 2 participants would be allowed to stay outside le moulin, during this event.

A Dana box is put out at the end of your time, and your group is invited to offer Dana to the full time staff and work retreatants and volunteers who are here on a longer basis, if they wish to do so.

The following equipment is available in the Tara Hall and can be hired by the teacher /organiser.

AMPLIFIER: Free of charge, includes 2 wearable wireless microphones, 1 wireless handheld mic, 10-speaker amplification system; bluetooth, USB-C and MiniJack inputs for music
COMPUTER: Free of charge, for recording / streaming. Files should be recorded to the cloud or an external device, and NOT held on the computer
PROJECTEUR: 100€/event (connection is by HDMI cable, please bring an adaptor if necessary)
TRANSLATION: 350€/event, includes 2 transmitters and 40 receivers for wireless reception of simultaneous translation. (please ask participants to bring their own headphones) (by prior arrangement only)
AV TECHNICAL SUPPORT: 250€/event for set-up. Basic set-up for amplification is included free of charge, but set-up assistance for streaming, recording and translation is charged (by prior arrangement only).

Please note:

• The Moulin is responsible for the provision of the material only
• The Moulin team will ensure that all material is in good working order at the start of an event and will endeavor to replace any items which fail during an event.
• External groups are responsible for their own technical set up and support and any trouble shooting during the event
• If group leaders wish to move the equipment from the teaching stage, they will need to provide extra cables where necessary and will be responsible for the new setup.
